Amref International University (AMIU), a Pan-African health sciences university owned by Amref Health Africa, is hiring a Tutorial Fellow - Medical Surgical Nursing for its Department of Nursing and Midwifery. This is a full-time position located in Nairobi, Kenya, with an application deadline of September 9, 2025.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a vital part of the department, responsible for teaching, training, and supervising students in Medical Surgical Nursing. The role is multifaceted and requires someone with passion and dedication to contribute to the university's mission and vision.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching and Training: Provide instruction in the field of Medical Surgical Nursing.
Curriculum Development and Review: Participate in creating and updating curricula.
Research and Fundraising: Drive research initiatives and engage in departmental fundraising.
Student Supervision: Supervise and mentor students.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all activities meet quality assurance and accreditation standards.
Departmental Coordination: Coordinate various departmental activities and report directly to the Head of Department.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must have a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Medical-Surgical Nursing. They must also be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and hold a valid practice license.
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and 2 years of clinical practice. Candidates should have proven experience in curriculum development, evaluation, and fostering a virtual learning environment.
