Job Summary

The Resident Medical Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical services and contributing to the clinical leadership at the Equity Afia Ruaka clinic. The position requires a professional with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS), a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council, and at least one year of post-internship experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS) from a recognized university.

  • Registered and with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.

  • At least one (1) year post-internship experience in either a public or private hospital.

  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, documentation, and reporting procedures.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.

  • Interest in leading a medical team, managing staff, and overseeing clinical operations.

  • Project management and report writing skills.

  • Leadership experience, financial knowledge (e.g., budgeting, cost management, basic accounting).

  • Knowledge of the laws of Kenya, regulations, guidelines, and health schemes.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
