Job Summary
The Phlebotomist will be responsible for drawing blood and other specimens with care and precision, ensuring safe, professional, and compassionate patient care. The role is open to candidates with a Certificate or Diploma in Phlebotomy or Laboratory Technology and a minimum of 2 years of experience. The successful candidate will be part of a caring team dedicated to putting patients first.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collect blood and other specimens safely and efficiently from patients.
Prepare, label, and handle samples according to established protocols to ensure accuracy.
Ensure patient comfort, reassurance, and safety during all procedures.
Maintain sterile equipment and strictly uphold infection control standards.
Assist in laboratory-related duties as needed, including sample processing and record-keeping.
Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and lab staff to ensure a seamless workflow.
Maintain and organize a clean and well-stocked workstation.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and hospital policies.
Provide clear instructions to patients before and after specimen collection.
Handle confidential patient information with discretion.
Report any issues or complications during procedures to a supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
A Certificate/Diploma in Phlebotomy or Laboratory Technology.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist.
Must be licensed/registered with a relevant professional body.
Excellent venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
