Job Summary
The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing effective leadership to the microfinance firm’s finance department and ensuring robust financial management. This includes supporting strategic planning, managing financial resource utilization, preparing timely financial reports, coordinating audits, and monitoring financial performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of the microfinance firm's strategic and business plan through effective allocation of financial resources.
- Manage the utilization of company finances according to established policies, plans, and procedures.
- Assist in financial planning using projection models and disseminate information to stakeholders.
- Monitor performance against financial plans and provide relevant and timely information to stakeholders.
- Provide accurate and timely periodic financial reports to various stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external auditors for timely and expeditious facilitation of external auditing requirements.
- Lead and manage the finance department team.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional qualifications from either CPA-K or ACCA.
- Certified Member of ICPAK.
- Minimum of 6 years of proven experience in a finance role, 3 of which must be at a microfinance firm.
- Experience in Microfinance is a must.
- 5 years of proven experience in collections.
- Computer literacy and proficiency (likely including accounting software and advanced Excel skills).
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work strategically and hands-on.
