Job Summary
Umma University is seeking a dedicated and experienced University Nurse to provide essential healthcare services to its university community. This role is crucial for ensuring the well-being of students and staff, involving direct patient care, health promotion, and efficient management of clinical supplies. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering first aid, managing clinical stock, and making appropriate referrals to hospitals.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer injections safely and according to medical protocols.
- Identify clinical service stock requirements, offer technical guidance on procurement, analyze variances in stock levels, and initiate corrective actions to ensure adequate supplies.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship by effectively communicating stock information and providing timely responses to inquiries from relevant departments.
- Offer first aid to patients promptly and effectively before referring them to a hospital for further medical attention.
- Conduct triage of patients to assess their medical needs and prioritize care appropriately.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Experience of 3 years and above in a clinical nursing role.
- Must be 25 years and above in age.
- Possess a valid practicing certificate & license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
