Job Objective
The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate high-quality teaching, provide essential student mentorship, actively engage in impactful research, and perform other responsibilities that align with Zetech University's overarching mission and strategic goals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the curriculum.
- Design, develop, plan, and deliver a range of programs of study, including potentially new courses at various academic levels.
- Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions, ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences for students.
- Review course content and materials on a regular basis, updating them as required to reflect current knowledge, industry trends, and pedagogical best practices.
- Collaborate with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the initiation and advancement of research activities within the department and wider university.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research, and actively engage in writing research grant proposals to secure funding for academic projects.
- Seek and participate in consultancies, leveraging academic expertise to provide valuable insights and solutions to external organizations.
- Present research papers at national or international conferences and other similar academic events, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and enhancing the university's reputation.
- Facilitate the dissemination of research outputs through publications, workshops, and other relevant channels.
- Provide crucial mentorship and career guidance to students and staff, fostering their professional and personal development.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the department's and university's objectives.
Qualification and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree qualification in Counselling Psychology from a recognized/accredited University in the relevant field.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience (this typically refers to experience gained after obtaining the Master's degree for tutorial fellow positions).
- Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research.
