Job Summary
The County Government of Lamu is seeking two skilled and dedicated Radiographer III professionals to provide essential diagnostic imaging services. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment, producing high-quality medical images, and ensuring patient safety during imaging procedures within the Lamu region, playing a vital role in accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operating various radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images as requested by medical practitioners.
- Ensuring the safe positioning of patients for imaging procedures.
- Applying appropriate radiation protection measures for patients and staff.
- Processing and evaluating radiographic images for quality and clarity.
- Maintaining accurate records of examinations performed and images produced.
- Ensuring the proper functioning and basic maintenance of radiographic equipment.
- Adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines in the radiology department.
- Assisting radiologists in specialized imaging procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Participating in continuous professional development to enhance radiographic skills and knowledge.
- Ensuring patient comfort and providing clear instructions before and during procedures.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this grade, the ideal candidate Must:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen (possess a National Identity Card/ Passport).
- Be a holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
- Possess a Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography /Medical Imaging from a recognized institution.
- A Higher Diploma in Ultrasound/ Computerized Tomography or Magnetic Resonance Imaging from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
- Have a Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
