Job Summary
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing physiotherapy treatment programs to improve patients' mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. This role requires a compassionate and skilled professional with excellent communication and teamwork abilities to provide quality care at Bahati Hospital in Nairobi.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions, including their movement, function, and pain levels.
- Develop individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
- Implement a range of physiotherapy interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and home exercise programs.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, treatment interventions, and progress notes.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss
patient progress and treatment strategies. - Provide advice and support to patients on injury prevention and health promotion.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of physiotherapy equipment.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of physiotherapy practice.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of physiotherapy protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Competence Required:
- Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Physiotherapist in a busy health facility.
- Must be registered with the relevant regulatory or professional body in Kenya (e.g., Physiotherapy Council of Kenya).
- Must be a good team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for clear and effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Good interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and work harmoniously with the healthcare team.
