Job Summary

The Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) will be responsible for providing routine dental services, educating patients and communities on oral health both online and in-person, participating in dental outreach programs, maintaining accurate records through online platforms, referring complex cases, and ensuring strict infection prevention and hygiene practices within the Zuri Health framework in Nairobi.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide routine dental services including extractions, fillings, scaling, and polishing to patients.
  • Educate patients and communities on oral health practices and hygiene through both online platforms and in-person interactions.
  • Take part in dental outreach wellness programs organized by Zuri Health in various community settings.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of patient treatments and outreach activities through various online platforms within the business.
  • Refer complex oral health cases to specialists or higher-level healthcare facilities for advanced management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and hygiene practices during all dental procedures and community interactions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the functionality and maintenance of dental equipment used in service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Membership in the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK) would be an added advantage.
  • 2-3 years of relevant hands-on experience in community oral health services.
