Job Summary
Our client, a retail pharmacy, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Pharmaceutical Technologist. This pivotal role involves ensuring that customers receive the correct medications and health advice, accurately dispensing prescriptions, explaining proper medication use, and assisting with over-the-counter treatments. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, attentive to detail, and committed to providing excellent service while also managing inventory, maintaining records, and handling transactions efficiently.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and safely.
- Advise customers on proper medication use, potential side effects, and general health matters.
- Ensure all prescriptions are filled in strict accordance with regulatory and professional guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and prescriptions.
- Assist in managing stock levels and ordering supplies to ensure continuous availability.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle all customer transactions efficiently.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service at the counter.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with all health regulations.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Must be Licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Previous three (3) years of experience in a retail pharmacy is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of prescription medications and their uses.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with POS systems.
