Role Summary

Tranquil Med Centre, a leading Level 4 Psychiatric and Mental Health Hospital, is looking for a dynamic Health Records Officer to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of patient health information. The officer will be responsible for the accurate collection, storage, retrieval, and dissemination of patient records, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations and data privacy standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accurate and timely creation, maintenance, and filing of patient medical records.
  • Manage patient registration, appointment scheduling, and front-desk operations as needed.
  • Retrieve and prepare patient files for clinics, admissions, and other departments.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all patient information.
  • Ensure data quality and completeness in both manual and electronic health record systems.
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to health records.
  • Generate reports and statistics from health record data as required.
  • Adhere to national and institutional health records policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma or Degree in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and data management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be a registered and active member of the Health Records and Information Management (HRIM) Board.
