Job Summary
The Cook III will be responsible for the preparation of raw foods for cooking, maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and the kitchen environment, setting up and preparing equipment for food production, and reporting any defective equipment to the supervisor within the health facilities of Nakuru County.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation of raw foods for cooking according to established recipes and guidelines.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of all equipment used in food production to maintain hygiene standards.
- Maintaining overall hygiene by ensuring thorough cleaning of the kitchen and its surrounding areas.
- Setting up and preparing equipment to ensure readiness for use in food preparation and production processes.
- Alerting the supervisor promptly of any equipment that is found to be defective or in need of repair.
Qualifications & Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade 'D' plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
- A Craft Certificate in Food and Beverage Production, Sales and Service or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- OR
- Attended a formal course lasting not less than two (2) months in Food Production organized by the Kenya Utalii College or other recognized Institution.
