Job Summary
AIC Kijabe Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to fill the role of Comprehensive and Holistic Care Training Course Lead. This position's core purpose is to glorify God through the provision of excellent education and clinical care. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and delivering new internal courses focused on holistic and comprehensive care, managing mentors, facilitating professional development for staff, and providing direct patient care, particularly in chronic diseases.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of new internal courses specifically designed for holistic and comprehensive care education, ensuring the curriculum aligns with the hospital's vision and educational standards.
- Lead the recruitment, training, retention, and follow-up of co-opted mentors who will be involved in various training courses, ensuring a strong and effective mentorship network.
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate small group mentorship sessions for trainees, effectively imparting knowledge and practical skills in comprehensive care.
- Facilitate Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions to enhance the clinical and professional development of hospital staff, with a particular focus on chronic disease management.
- Work directly with clinical staff in the chronic care clinic and outpatient department to provide essential healthcare services to patients as assigned, integrating educational insights into practice.
- Advocate for AIC Kijabe Hospital to achieve recognition as Centers of Excellence across the chronic disease spectrum, promoting best practices and high-quality care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or Nursing.
- Preferred Qualification: A Higher Diploma or Master’s in Medical Education will be a significant advantage.
- Registration: Must be registered with the Clinical Officers Council or Nursing Council, depending on the primary qualification.
- License: Possess a valid practicing license to ensure legal and ethical clinical work.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a HIV/TB or Chronic Diseases clinic is required.
