Job Summary
The Clinical Preceptor will be responsible for mentoring and guiding student nurses during their clinical placements, supporting the induction of new nurses, ensuring compliance with clinical quality standards, and enhancing professional development through education and evaluation at The Nairobi Women's Hospital in Nairobi.
Job Description:
- Mentoring and guiding student nurses during their clinical placements, providing support and instruction in a real-world healthcare setting.
- Supporting the induction of new nurses, facilitating their integration into the hospital environment and ensuring they are well-equipped for their roles.
- Ensuring compliance with clinical quality standards by providing guidance and education on best practices and protocols.
- Enhancing professional development through education and evaluation of nursing staff and students to promote continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or a related field with Nursing certification.
- With at least two (2) years’ work experience in a clinical setting.
Key Competencies:
- Prior experience in teaching, preceptorship, or mentoring within a clinical setting is highly desirable, demonstrating a passion for nursing education.
- Strong knowledge of clinical quality standards and nursing practice protocols to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and provide guidance.
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide student and new nurses.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage preceptorship activities and documentation efficiently.
