Job Summary
M.P. Shah Hospital is actively recruiting compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurses to join its dynamic Pediatrics unit. Reporting directly to the Nurse Managers, these vital roles involve providing holistic, evidence-based care to young patients, adhering to the hospital's core values including environmental sustainability. Key responsibilities include emergency response, precise medication administration, comprehensive vital signs monitoring, stringent infection prevention, engaging patient and family education, and active multidisciplinary collaboration, all while ensuring responsible and sustainable resource utilization within the pediatric setting.
Duties & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, evidence-based holistic patient care to pediatric patients, promoting their physical, mental, and social well-being, whilst actively considering environmental and resource sustainability.

Respond promptly and efficiently to medical emergencies specific to pediatric patients, ensuring all safety and sustainability protocols are strictly upheld within the Pediatrics unit.

Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately to children, considering age-appropriate dosages and administration techniques, while ensuring responsible use of resources and continuously monitoring for adverse effects.

Monitor and meticulously document vital signs, hydration, and growth parameters for pediatric patients, ensuring timely escalation of any concerns and implementing resource-conscious clinical practices.

Uphold strict infection prevention and control standards within the Pediatrics ward, ensuring environmentally responsible waste management in accordance with M.P. Shah Hospital’s IPC and sustainability guidelines.

Educate parents and guardians comprehensively on their child's treatment plans, preventive health measures, developmental milestones, and the critical importance of sustainable health practices.

Actively collaborate with pediatricians, child life specialists, and other healthcare professionals across various disciplines to deliver integrated and seamless care, supporting sustainable and efficient patient outcomes.

Conduct essential nursing procedures specific to pediatric care, such as venipuncture, IV insertion, and pain management, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and sustainable resource use.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Must possess a Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN, KRN, or KRM) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution.
- A Higher Diploma or specialization relevant to the nursing unit, particularly in Pediatric Nursing, is highly desirable.
- Must hold a Valid Nursing Council of Kenya license.
- Possession of a Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable healthcare practices and environmental stewardship will be considered a significant added advantage.
- Strong clinical assessment skills specific to pediatric patients of various age groups.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in pediatric medical emergencies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient approach to children and their families.
