Job Summary
City Health Hospital in Nairobi is seeking a passionate and skilled Audiologist to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive audiological services within a friendly and innovative healthcare environment, contributing to the hospital's commitment to public health and patient well-being in the heart of Nairobi.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations to diagnose and assess hearing and balance disorders in patients of all ages.
- Administer a variety of audiological tests, including audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions (OAEs), and vestibular assessments.
- Interpret test results accurately and prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Develop and implement individualized hearing rehabilitation plans, including fitting and programming hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding hearing loss, treatment options, and communication strategies.
- Manage and maintain audiological equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with hospital policies and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with ENT specialists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in audiology through continuous professional development and research.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe testing environment.
- Educate the community on hearing health and the importance of early detection of hearing loss.
- Participate in outreach programs and screenings as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be registered and licensed as an Audiologist with the relevant professional body in Kenya (if applicable).
- Proven experience as an Audiologist
- Strong clinical skills in conducting a wide range of audiological assessments.
- Proficiency in fitting and programming various types of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to counsel patients and families effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using audiological software and electronic health records.
