Job Summary
The Assistant Director, Medical Services, will be responsible for reviewing patients and providing written recommendations, undertaking first-on-call duties, performing medical and surgical procedures, managing emergencies and disasters, providing psycho-social interventions, offering clinical services, training and mentoring medical interns and students, and conducting consultations and surgeries within Migori County.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing patients thoroughly and providing clear written instructions for all recommendations.
- Undertaking first-on-call duties to provide immediate medical attention when required.
- Performing medical and surgical procedures within their area of expertise and training.
- Preparing for and responding effectively to medical emergencies and disasters.
- Providing psycho-social interventions to support patients' mental and emotional well-being.
- Providing high-quality clinical services to patients across various medical needs.
- Training and mentoring Medical Interns and other students to foster the next generation of medical professionals.
- Conducting consultations with patients and other healthcare providers.
- Performing surgeries in various specialties as needed and within their competence.
Requirements for Appointment:
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Have successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
- Hold a Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Possess a Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Have relevant working experience of at least four (4) years either in the public or private sector.
- Possess a Certificate in Computer proficiency skills from a recognized institution.

- Certificate of good conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department.
