Job Summary
The Medical Officer will be responsible for providing medical consultations, diagnosing and treating patients, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in accordance with professional standards and ethical guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
- Perform minor surgical procedures and emergency medical interventions.
- Provide patient education on disease management, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Administer Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) in emergency situations.
- Adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and professional standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS).
- Registered and with a valid license
1 from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC). - At least one (1) year of post-internship clinical experience in either a public or private hospital.
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficient in computer applications and electronic health records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
