Job Positions and Requirements

1. Radiographer III, Job Group ‘H’ (2 Posts)

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing radiographic services to patients.
  • Processing, verifying, and maintaining patient information.
  • Ordering and maintaining records of radiographic and photographic supplies.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

  • Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
  • KCPE and KCSE Certificate.
  • Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences.
  • Valid practicing license from Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA).
  • Member of the Society of Radiography of Kenya (SORK).

2. Medical Engineering Technologist, Job Group ‘H’ (1 Post)

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preventive maintenance and repairs of medical equipment.
  • Minor repairs of health facilities and utilities.
  • Ordering spare parts and consumables.
  • Maintaining inventory of medical equipment.
  • Collating information for research.
  • Implementing medical engineering programs and projects.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

  • Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
  • KCPE and KCSE Certificate.
  • Diploma in Medical Engineering.
  • Registered with the Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya.
  • Two years’ experience in a busy hospital (Attach evidence).

3. Medical Engineer, Job Group ‘K’ (1 Post)

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing medical engineering programs and projects.
  • Preventive maintenance and repairs of medical equipment.
  • Providing user support.
  • Providing specifications for spare parts.
  • Maintaining inventory of medical equipment.
  • Processing information for research.
  • Updating information on medical engineering services.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

  • Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
  • KCPE and KCSE Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Engineering.
  • Registered with the Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya.
  • Two years’ experience in a busy hospital (Attach evidence).

4. Pharmaceutical Technologist I, Job Group ‘H’ (2 Posts)

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing pharmaceutical services in a hospital.
  • Taking charge of pharmaceutical services.
  • Compounding and dispensing medicine.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

  • Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
  • KCPE and KCSE Certificate.
  • Diploma in Pharmacy.
  • Registered by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
  • Valid practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
  • Two years’ experience in a busy hospital (Attach evidence).

5. Mortuary Attendant/Mortician, Job Group ‘E’ (2 Posts)

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and receiving bodies.
  • Recording bodies received.
  • Washing, embalming, and refrigeration.
  • Assisting in post mortems.
  • Counseling relatives.
  • Releasing bodies.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

  • Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
  • KCPE and KCSE Certificate.
  • Three years’ experience in a busy mortuary or funeral home (Attach evidence).
  • Certificate in Mortuary Science.
  • Training in embalming and grief counseling (added advantage).

6. Orthopedic Trauma Technician 1I, Job Group ‘H’ (2 Posts)

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting radiological images.
  • Minor orthopedic operative techniques.
  • Removing external fixators.
  • Manipulating and reducing fractures.
  • Fixing and removing casts.
  • Correcting congenital orthopedic conditions.
  • Participating in trauma case management.
  • Sensitizing and counseling patients.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

  • Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
  • KCPE and KCSE Certificate.
  • Certificate in Orthopedic Plaster and Traction Technology or Orthopedic Plaster Technology.
  • Registered with the Kenya Society of Orthopedics Trauma Technologist/Technician.
  • Two years’ experience in a busy hospital (Attach evidence).

7. Registered Clinical Officer I (Anesthetist), Job Group ‘K’ (3 Posts)

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Taking history, examining, diagnosing, and treating patients.
  • Guiding and counseling patients.
  • Referring patients.
  • Assessing and presenting medical legal reports.
  • Organizing health management teams.
  • Implementing community healthcare activities.
  • Sensitizing patients.
  • Providing clinical outreach.
  • Minor surgical procedures.
