Job Summary
The Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) will be responsible for providing oral health education, preventive care, and basic dental treatments to the community, ensuring improved oral health outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct oral health assessments and provide preventive care.
- Provide oral health education and promote good oral hygiene practices.
- Perform basic dental treatments such as scaling and polishing.
- Manage and maintain dental equipment and supplies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Participate in community outreach programs and health campaigns.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Adhere to all relevant oral health regulations and standards.
- Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) when needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Community Oral Health.
- Registration with a valid license from the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK) / Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Good communication skills.
