Job Summary
The Chief Internal Auditor, Financial will be responsible for participating in the formulation and review of internal audit strategies, policies, and procedures, providing assurance on internal controls, and assessing the Authority’s governance, risk management, and control processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in the formulation, monitoring, and review of the Internal Audit Services Strategy, Internal Audit Policies, and Procedures.
- Participate in the development, monitoring, and review of the Annual Internal Audit Risk-Based Plan.
- Provide assurance on Internal Controls in relevant Directorates and Departments to assess compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in the assessment of the Authority’s governance, risk management, and control processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide assurance on the Authority’s Asset management to confirm their existence and protection.
- Conduct reviews of the Authority’s Financial Statements and Operations Reports to determine their completeness, accuracy, and reliability.
- Undertake audits of the Authority’s Information Communication Technology Systems and Infrastructure.
- Provide assurance services on the Business Continuity and Disaster Preparedness Strategy.
- Undertake special audits assigned by the Head of Internal Audit Function.
- Undertake follow-up with relevant Directorates and Departments to ensure the implementation of agreed corrective action plans.
- Prepare complete Internal Audit Reports with appropriate recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in the development and deployment of computer programs for automated audit processes.
- Provide advisory services to other Directorates for enhanced service delivery.
- Participate in internal and external quality assessments of the Internal Audit Function.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A minimum of Ten (10) years’ Internal Audit work experience, three (3) of which must have been at a Senior Internal Auditor level or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, Computer Science, Information Technology, Aviation, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, Computer Science, Information Technology, Aviation, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent.
- CPA(K) and CIA/CS(K)/CISA/Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control/any equivalent qualification.
- Membership in a recognized Professional body in good standing.
- Certificate in Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
- Demonstrated merit and ability in work performance.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
