Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) France, a globally recognized medical humanitarian organization, is seeking a Mental Health Supervisor to join its dedicated team in Kenya. Since 1996, MSF France has been providing critical healthcare services in the country, focusing on emergency medical assistance, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) support, and youth-friendly services.
MSF operates a 24-hour SGBV Clinic at Lavender House in Mathare, along with an Emergency Program that offers pre-hospital care and trauma/medical stabilization. Additionally, its Dandora clinic provides specialized services for youth aged 10 to 24 years. All MSF services are free of charge, including a toll-free hotline for victims in need.

Job Summary
The Mental Health Supervisor will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating mental health and psycho-social services in the program. This role ensures the highest quality of mental health support for patients while working closely with the Project Medical Referent and other healthcare professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and coordinate Mental Health activities in collaboration with the medical team.
- Supervise daily mental health services to ensure adherence to MSF protocols and standards.
- Liaise with local and international counterparts (e.g., MoH, WHO, ICRC, NGOs) on mental health matters and referrals.
- Oversee and provide clinical supervision for mental health counselors.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain high ethical standards in service delivery.
- Conduct trainings and mentorship for staff under mental health services.
- Supervise data collection and reporting related to mental health activities.
- Provide direct psychological support to patients when necessary.
- Ensure integration of mental health services within MSF's overall healthcare framework.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Degree in Counseling or Medical Psychology (Master’s in Clinical Psychology preferred).
- Experience: At least 4 years in direct clinical mental health care, with supervisory experience.
- NGO Experience: Previous work in a humanitarian organization is an added advantage.
- Language: Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication.
- High stress tolerance and flexibility.
- Commitment to MSF’s humanitarian principles.
