Job Summary

The Nurse Tutor will be a core faculty member responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating theoretical and practical nursing instruction. The position involves conducting classroom lectures, leading skills laboratory training, setting and grading standardized examinations, and directly supervising student nurses during clinical rotations within the main hospital's specialized wards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Academic Delivery: Prepare detailed lesson plans, course outlines, and instructional materials to deliver engaging lectures across multiple nursing units.

  • Clinical Supervision: Accompany, mentor, and grade student nurses during their ward attachments, ensuring strict adherence to safe patient-care procedures.

  • Technology Integration: Integrate virtual learning tools, presentation platforms, and digital healthcare applications directly into the classroom and lab curricula.

  • Student Assessment: Design and administer continuous assessment tests (CATs), mock trials, and final institutional examinations to gauge student competence.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all training activities remain aligned with the strict standards and curriculum requirements set by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized and accredited university.

  • Must be fully Registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) with a valid, active practicing license for the current year.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of combined clinical and teaching experience within an accredited medical training setup.

  • High level of general computer literacy with a proven ability to leverage technology for teaching and learning workflows.
