Job Summary

The Pharmaceutical Technologist will be responsible for critical daily tasks within the pharmacy, including compounding, accurately dispensing medications, and ensuring proper prescription handling. This role requires an individual with strong communication skills to provide expert advice on pharmaceutical products and maintain clear communication with both healthcare providers and patients. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Pharmacy and be enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compound medications accurately according to prescribed formulations and standards.

  • Ensure the accuracy of prescriptions before dispensing medicine to patients.

  • Dispense medicine and provide clear instructions on usage and storage.

  • Offer expert advice and counseling to patients on pharmaceutical products and proper medication management.

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with healthcare providers regarding patient prescriptions and treatment plans.

  • Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking medications.

  • Ensure all dispensed medications comply with the regulations set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya (PPB).

  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to dispensed medications.

  • Adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols within the pharmacy.

  • Collaborate effectively as part of the pharmacy team to ensure seamless service delivery.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • A Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.

  • Enrolled with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya (PPB).

  • Proven skills in Compounding and Pharmacy practice.

  • Proficiency with handling Prescriptions and Medicine.

  • Excellent Communication skills for patient and provider interactions.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
