Job Summary
Jacaranda Maternity is seeking a dedicated Clinical Officer - Paediatrics to join its expanding team. Reporting to the Doctor In-charge, this role holds the responsibility of delivering quality customer service and maintaining superior patient satisfaction within the pediatric services. The ideal candidate will have a Higher Diploma in Paediatrics and at least 2 years of experience in a busy maternity or startup facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive paediatric services within the family care medical center.
Perform clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children's ailments.
Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure superior patient satisfaction for children and their families.
Manage and run paediatric services, preferably within a maternity hospital setting.
Collaborate effectively with the Doctor In-charge and the wider medical team.
Implement best practice protocols for newborn and child health care.
Provide respectful and client-centric care, adhering to the hospital's standards.
Participate actively in the setup and operationalization of paediatric services in new or existing facilities.
Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records of all paediatric patients.
Assist in health education and counseling for parents and guardians on child health.
Ensure all clinical practices comply with regulatory and professional standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
A Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery – Paediatrics is required.
A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
Must hold a valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers' Council of Kenya.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy clinical environment.
Proven experience running paediatric services, preferably in a maternity hospital.
Experience working in a startup maternity facility is a significant advantage.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
