Job Summary

CURE International is seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Technologist for a locum (contract) position. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications, providing patient education, maintaining detailed records, managing inventory, and upholding high standards of pharmacy practice and safety within a compassionate, mission-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense drugs to in-patients upon discharge and out-patients as needed, ensuring patients receive proper instructions for use and cautioning on side effects.
  • Scrutinize patient treatment sheets and prescriptions for suitability, verifying dosing accuracy, drug interactions, and route of administration.
  • Replenish stocks of in-patient medications according to treatment sheets.
  • Provide drug information to patients, clinicians, nurses, and other medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of all issued medicines in bin cards, issue books, and the Odoo system.
  • Participate in regular monitoring of medication management in clinical areas.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the pharmacy.
  • Be in charge of all quality activities related to this position as per Hospital Standards (SAFECARE).
  • Maintain the pharmacy store.
  • Make medication orders for the pharmacy.
  • Supply medication orders to other departments, such as the Operating Room (OR) and wards.
  • Maintain the pharmacy cold chain.
  • Maintain all pharmacy records and perform any other assigned pharmacy administrative tasks.
  • Prepare and send all required periodic reports.
  • Keep up to date with current pharmacy practice and drugs.
  • Collaborate effectively with other staff members to provide quality service to patients and uphold CURE's vision, mission, and values.
  • Maintain and manage OSHA Standards in cleanliness, implementing the OSHA Policy, and ensuring that all provided PPEs are worn at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the CURE child protection and safeguarding policies.
