Job Summary

Bliss Medical Centre is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmaceutical Technologist to take charge of their Kiambu branch. This vital leadership role involves overseeing all daily pharmacy operations, ensuring strict adherence to established protocols, and efficiently managing the accurate dispensing of all Health Products and Technologies (HPT). The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining optimal stock levels, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding the highest standards of patient safety and service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the pharmacy premises, ensuring a well-organized, clean, and compliant environment.
  • Implement and strictly adhere to all pharmacy processes as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and policy manuals.
  • Ensure the accurate dispensing of Health Products and Technologies (HPT) commodities at all pharmacy units.
  • Guarantee adequate HPT stock levels by precise quantification, accurate indenting, proper receiving, and efficient dispensing, with a strong focus on preventing pilferages.
  • Maintain continuous inventory stock hygiene practices using the ABC analysis algorithm.
  • Conduct monthly comprehensive stock audits and provide clear explanations for any stock discrepancies.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper and seamless handovers between staff members during shifts or transitions.
  • Timely submission of daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Pharmacy In-charge and Center Manager.
  • Ensure accurate entry of information into the narcotic drugs register and meticulous filing of corresponding prescriptions.
  • Maintain proper filing of various pharmacy documents.
  • Oversee the monitoring and proactive management of expiring HPT commodities during the last week of each month; prepare a comprehensive expired items list and forward it to the warehouse within the first week of the subsequent month. A report of this process must also be sent to the Quality Management (QM) pharmacy.
  • Monitor and manage cold chain integrity and temperature-sensitive HPT to maintain product efficacy.

Requirements - Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Diploma in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology.
  • Registered/Enrolled by the Pharmacy & Poisons Board (PPB).
  • Possess a valid practice license.
  • Be a member of KPA/PSK (Kenya Pharmaceutical Association / Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya).
