Job Summary
Bliss Medical Centre is seeking a Pharmaceutical Technologist (Incharge) for their Teleposta branch in Nairobi. This pivotal role involves superintending the pharmacy premises, implementing and adhering to pharmacy processes, ensuring accurate and efficient dispensing of Health Products and Technologies (HPT), managing inventory, and maintaining rigorous stock hygiene. The successful candidate will be crucial in guaranteeing the smooth operation of the pharmacy and the availability of essential medical supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Superintend the premises, ensuring a well-organized and compliant pharmacy environment.
- Implement pharmacy processes as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and policy manuals.
- Ensure the correct dispensing of Health Products and Technologies (HPT) commodities at the dispensing pharmacy units.
- Guarantee adequate HPT in the dispensing pharmacy store through precise quantification, indenting, receipts, and dispensing, with no pilferages.
- Ensure continuous inventory stock hygiene practice using the ABC analysis algorithm.
- Conduct monthly complete stock audits with proper explanations for any stock discrepancies.
- Responsible for ensuring proper handover between relevant staff members.
- Timely issue daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Pharmacy In-charge and Center Manager.
- Ensure proper entry of information in the narcotic drugs register and accurate filing of prescriptions for the same.
- Ensure proper filing of various documents within the pharmacy.
- Ensure the monitoring and management of expiring HPT commodities every last week of the month; prepare an expired items list and forward it to the warehouse within the first week of the month. A report of the same must be sent to the Quality Management (QM) pharmacy.
- Ensure the monitoring and management of cold chain integrity and temperature-sensitive HPT.
Requirements - Skills and Experience
- Bachelor or Diploma in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology.
- Registered/Enrolled by the Pharmacy & Poisons Board (PPB).
- Valid practice license.
- Member of KPA/PSK (Kenya Pharmaceutical Association / Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya).
