Job Summary
Kiriaini Mission Hospital is seeking a Clinical Officer to offer clinical services as per training and qualifications. This role involves conducting health education, maintaining practice and case management, attending to medical emergencies, ensuring a safe clinic environment, handling patient data confidentially, ordering and interpreting investigations, diagnosing and instituting appropriate treatment, and ensuring adherence to established treatment protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Offer clinical services as per training and qualifications.
- Organizing and conducting health education and counselling to the patients, relatives, and staff.
- Maintaining practice and case management.
- Attending to medical emergency calls and recommend referrals for cases that cannot be managed in liaison with HOD.
- Ensure that the clinic environment is safe and complies with infection control standards.
- Handle patients' data/information confidentially at all times.
- Ensure that all required observations and vitals, prescribed treatment and procedures are carried out and documented on patients' charts.
- Order investigations and interpretation of results for diagnosis and explain the results to the patients and the intended treatment.
- Diagnose and institute appropriate treatment, write prescriptions, and carry out other treatment activities while ensuring that established treatment protocols are effectively followed.
Qualifications
- Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery.
- Certificate of registration by the Clinical Officers' Council.
- Valid practicing license.
